MY STORY – FROM BEEING A CONFUSED TEENAGER TO A GOLDSMITH

I´ve always been a dreamer, ever since I was a little girl. My mom have told me that I was always in my own thoughts. But I never had a dream of beeing something particular when I grew up. I hadn´t thought about that. Like many other teenagers I struggled with finding my passion, and didn´t really know what I wanted to be or work with. I only knew I liked being creative. So after I gratuaded college I took a year off, to think , work and find out more. In the beginnig it was awful, because it took me a few months before...

Exotic Jewellery Shoot

During christmas and new year I was in Tenerife with my family. And since my mom owns a Canon camera, I just had to grab the opportunity and take some pictures of some of my jewelry in the beautiful nature of Tenerife. Mom took the pictures, and I was the handmodel. I actually love these!

Babyshower

Yesterday I finally got home after a busy weekend. One of my closest friends, Thavry, is pregnant, so me and some others girls arranged a surprise babyshower for her and the baby this saturday. It was fun and girly, and the main guest was so happy about the whole thing! This is the jewelry I wore: A cordelle chain I bought in Tenerife, two handmade rings I´ve made and a pair of beaded earrings.

The making of my violin

I´m writing about this so that people understand how much work we put in these jewelry pieces. I´m going to try as good as I can to explain it as easy as possible, hope you understand it and enjoy reading it In december we started with the microscopic string-instrument assignment. We knew we we´re going to get the assignment sometime, but not when. It was a big assignment, and we got 3 weeks to work on it. Our string instrument had to have strings and a box, which of course made the assignment even more challenging....

Drawing and painting jewelry

Drawing jewelry in the right perspective is not a piece of cake. You have to think about a lot of things at the same time; right angle, light, fine lines.. Lately we have been focusing on drawing jewelry in perspective. You can see the ring I worked on, in the picture below. First we spent a lot of time drawing the ring in perspective and in the right angle. Then we had to make 3 drawings ; one with shadows, one painted with color pencils, and one with paint. Painting jewelry is a bigger challenge. When you draw in perspective...

Why is “Natalicious” in English?

As many of you know I’m a Norweigan jewelrymaker, and live in Norway. Natalicious is not a large company, it’s in fact the opposite. Natalicious is a brand that I, Natali have been created alone(with lots of help of course). I am my own boss. With all this said, it brings up the question “why is her whole website written in english?” I’m sure lots of friends and family are wondering why, and sometimes even I ask myself why. When I planned the website, I decided pretty quickly that I wanted...

Tips on how to order beads

A jewelry maker who works with beads, always want to have more beads. Even though she already has plenty different beads, it´s always exciting with brand new ones to make new jewelry with! A few weeks ago I ordered lots of beads from a Norwegian website that sells beads and materials related to jewelry-making. Ordering online is always a bit unpredictable, because you never really know what you´re gonna get! A silver chain can look so pretty on the picture, and you want it so bad that you end up ordering it with a big...

Back to school

Lately I have been starting to make collages, and it´s really fun! I surf online on different clothing stores and pick out closes, shoes and accessories and make an outfit that looks good with one of my products. Personally I love looking at closes online, and I can sit hours without even buying anything. I really enjoy doing the collages because of the results, and I think that since my jewelry is new, people need to see how they can combine it with different outfits. It´s a fashion inspiration! Today I made a “Back-to-school-collage”...

Summerpieces

This summer I wanted to make jewelry in colors that reminds me of summer. I got inspiration from popular trends in magazines and clothing stores. I also wanted to make some necklaces and bracelets, since almost all of my products are earrings. As you can see I have been experimenting with using crocheting techniques in my jewelry making. It´always fun to be creative and even more fun trying new methods. Today I put together pictures and made a summer- collage with pictures of some of the products I made this summer.  What...

Why jewelry?

For most people jewelry is a trend, an accessorie and decoration to an outfit, but for me it’s also fun work. Being creative and making things, gives me so much. It makes me proud, and makes me believe in myself. Everytime I face a challenge, I get more strenght and I get better. I learn from my mistakes and developes as a jewelry- maker and a designer. You can call me a dreamer, or a dream chaser. Who knows, maybe I wont succeed and get as far as I want to. But the most important thing for me is that I wont give up....

Updating you

Hey. It’s been a long time since I updated you about my school work, because I’ve been busy with important assignments we have had these last couple of weeks. I have posted pictures of the finish results on my facebook- page “Natalicious”, but I’ll show them to you here as well. First I want to tell you about the assignments I have worked with lately, and then you can...
